Blog # 1 as Organizer - How to Code Together with Python
By: Nicole Bernal Marcial
How to Code Together with Python was organized by our team, Overflow. The webinar takes place virtually via Google Meet and Facebook live on September 25, 2021 from 1:00PM to 4:00PM. Team Overflow invited a great speaker for this webinar, Mr. Arthur Tristan Ramos, a IOS Developer at EasyPos Solutions.
Reflection/ Learnings about webinar
Mr. Ramos requested to us, as the organizers of the webinar, that the audience should be active and the webinar should be interactive and not too dull. Being the organizer of the webinar, it was a challenge for us. Basically, conducting our first webinar as organizers was not just easy.
Overflow started from scratch, by making our own brand logo, creating our own letterhead, until the planning and execution of the webinar. It’s not easy for us because it was our first time, but we need to cope up with the situation.
We, as a team, learned a lot, starting from the brainstorming of ideas, planning of activities, writing communication letters, making all of the deliverables, and etc. Team Overflow learned a lot from this first webinar.
Reflections on possibilities of implementing the learnings on life applications
This experience was so helpful for me because I learned some soft skills that I can used in my future projects or even in my future workplace. By just simply doing webinar management, writing letters, learning some professionalism methods, it helps a lot for me being as an IT individual.
Learnings from the speaker as he discussed the topic was full of knowledge that I can use as I explore more in the programming industry. Moreover, this experience was remarkable for me.
Positive feedback
I was glad being on Team Overflow because we are a group of students that are skilled enough to pull off such webinar like this. The program flow was so smooth and all of the deliverables was handled carefully by the team members. Also, as request by Mr. Ramos to mak
e the webinar lively, the participants was actively engaged by the topic. Hence, the whole webinar was great for us, as our first organized webinar.
Suggestions for improvements
The team should have been
more prepared for the second webinar and I think we should broaden our target
participants. Although, the team gathered around 60+ participants, we are
planning to increase and expand the participation and membership for our second
event.
