Blog # 3 as Organizer - The IT Industry Beyond the School Walls
By: Nicole Bernal Marcial
The IT Industry Beyond
the School Walls was organized by our team, Overflow. The webinar takes place
virtually via Google Meet and Facebook live on December 15 from 8:00PM to 9:00PM.
Team Overflow provided the speaker for this webinar, Mr. Kristoffer Rolf Obias
Nale, a Senior Software Solutions Specialist at Star Paper Corporation.
Reflection/ Learnings about webinar
The IT industry beyond our institution is really difficult, especially when you have some expectations such as high salary. I learn that learning really starts outside the school walls, that’s what this webinar thought me. Those opportunities are not only for job opportunities, it is about the opportunity to learn more and to gain more skills and knowledge about information technology.
Reflections on possibilities of implementing the learnings on life applications
Just like the other
webinars, there was a lot of experience that was so helpful for me because I
learned some soft skills that I can used in my future projects or even in my
future workplace.
The IT industry is not
just about jobs that requires ones and zeroes, or jobs that require a specialty
of some sort, it is how we use technology in aspects of life. For example, Mr. Kristoffer
said that social media influencers like Cong TV is a part of the IT industry,
because they are using technology to broadcast information and as a job.
Positive feedback
Just like what I have
said, I was too glad being on Team Overflow which I have a team that was
skilled and professional, that can already pull off a great a big webinar like
How to Code Together with Python and Video Editing 101. The production of the
event is well prepared. The deliverables and the stream have a good quality of
graphics. There is also involvement with the audience through ice breakers in
the beginning of the webinar. The flow / sequence of each topic is arranged
accordingly. Each topic introduced to the audience are in correlation to one
another.
Suggestions for improvements
We should aim for more
rooms for our improvement, of the team and also ourselves.
Lastly, applying all our
learnings are important.
